Originally, all parts were published by various publishers (mainly "Nasza Księgarnia") and with various layouts, as separate novels; the order of their publication did not coincide with the order in which the book was written or the chronology of the series.
In the years 1980-1987, the Wydawnictwo Pojezierze in Olsztyn was the first to put in order and resumed all parts in a uniform layout with illustrations by Szymon Kobyliński (except for part 8). Defined by the slogan "White Series", it enjoyed great popularity among readers with a circulation of over 100,000 copies. copy
